Wind Ensemble

The Baker Wind Ensemble is the premier instrumental ensemble at Baker High School. It consists of about 45-50 students and membership in the band is determined by individual audition. Students also must participate in marching band to be considered. Private instruction is strongly encouraged. This ensemble has continued to strive for excellence by performing literature on the advanced list of the wind band repertoire. Students in this band pursue roles in the Alabama All-State Bands, Alabama District VII Honor Band, Mobile County Honor Bands, and collegiate honor bands. Under the direction of Mr. Sidney Dedeaux, the BHS Wind Ensemble has continued tradition in excellence with receiving superior ratings at the annual Alabama Music Performance Assessment.
